Privacy

Short, because there’s little to say: this site doesn’t track you, and Leta sends nothing anywhere except its machine code, once, to start the evaluation.

This website

letacad.com is a set of static pages. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics or advertising, and loads nothing from other sites: its type is your computer’s own, and its pictures are served from here.

The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which handles each request, including your IP address, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. Cloudflare’s handling of that data is described in its own privacy policy.

Email

When you write to support@letacad.com, your message is read by the person who makes Leta and used to answer you: to send a beta build, a license, or help. Your address isn’t sold, shared or added to a mailing list.

To send you a license, Leta’s license file records the name, organization and email you give, and your computer’s machine code.

The Leta application

  • No account and no telemetry. Leta connects to the internet for one thing: when you press Start 30-Day Evaluation, it sends this computer’s machine code to letacad.com and gets an evaluation license back. It never connects on its own, and a bought license activates offline.
  • The machine code. The machine code Leta sends for an evaluation, or you send to get a license, is made from four hashed identifiers of the computer and Windows. It says nothing about you or your work.
  • Your files stay yours. Parts, drawings and settings are files on your own computer.
  • Reports stay local. Session logs, crash reports and problem reports are written to your computer, and go nowhere unless you choose to email them.

Evaluations

So that each computer gets one 30-day evaluation, letacad.com keeps, for every evaluation it issues: the machine code it was issued for, the dates it runs between, and a keyed hash of the internet address the request came from. The hash is used only to limit how many evaluations one connection can start in a day, and it can’t be turned back into the address. None of it names you, and it isn’t shared or sold.
