Discussions privacy

Leta itself needs no account. Signing in is only for posting on the discussion board, and this page says what the board keeps.

Last updated October 22, 2026. The rest of letacad.com and the Leta application are covered by the main privacy page.

Reading

Anyone can read the discussions without signing in. Reading sets no cookies and needs no account. Visits to the board’s pages are counted like the rest of the site’s, as the main privacy page describes.

Signing in

You sign in with Google or GitHub. The board never sees your password: Google or GitHub confirms who you are and tells the board this much:

  • From Google: your account’s ID number, your name, and your email address.
  • From GitHub: your account’s ID number, your user name and your name. The board doesn’t ask GitHub for your email address.

The board asks for nothing else, and can’t see your mail, files, contacts or anything else in those accounts.

What is public

Your posts and their screenshots, the name shown on them, and when they were posted. A name from Google starts as your first name and last initial, and you can change the name on your account page. How many votes a discussion has is public; who voted isn’t.

What isn’t

Your email address is never shown. It’s kept with your account and seen only by the person who makes Leta, who may use it to ask about a bug you reported. It’s never sold, shared or added to a mailing list.

Each new post is emailed to Leta’s support inbox, so that it’s read and moderated.

Screenshots

Screenshots are stored by letacad.com. When one is posted, the board takes out what a picture can carry besides the image itself, such as a phone photo’s location and the camera’s details. What the picture shows is public, so check that it shows nothing private before you post it.

Cookies

Signing in sets one cookie, leta_session, on the discussion pages only. It keeps you signed in for 90 days, or until you sign out. A second cookie lasts the few minutes a sign-in takes. There are no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.

Deleting your account

Your account page has Delete account. You choose whether your posts stay, shown as from a deleted account, or are deleted with their screenshots. A discussion you started that others have replied to keeps its title and their replies. Your name, email address and sign-ins are deleted either way.

To take down one post, use its Delete button, or write to support@letacad.com.

Where it’s kept

The board runs on Cloudflare, like the rest of letacad.com. Cloudflare’s handling of requests is described in its own privacy policy.
